The electricity tariff is expected to increase by 2.6% starting at 1.02, according to the Electricity Authority's hearing that will soon be made public. The Electricity Authority explained in a conversation with Israel Hayom that the tariff revision was supposed to be significantly higher and stand at an increase of 13%, but due to the expected revenues from the sale of the Eshkol power station, it was decided to moderate the increase in order to make things easier for the economy at this time. The authority also said that the tariff revision was supposed to take place on January 1, but was postponed due to the war.

The tariff revision hearing stated: "Due to the increase in consumer price indices over the past year, the increase in the interest rate in the economy, the continued development of the electricity sector, increasing the redundancy and reliability of the electricity supply, adding renewable energies and reducing air pollution, the Authority is updating electricity prices for consumers.
The significance of the update to a representative household consumer, when taking into account all the components of the tariff, is about NIS 9.5 per month, an increase of 2.6 percent compared with the previous update. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose by about 2.7% during the same period."

It added, "The Authority made its decision while balancing the considerations for maintaining a developing and stable electricity sector, against imposing costs on electricity consumers at this time. Therefore, at this stage, the Authority has decided not to fully embody the increase in cost, and to take into account future revenues expected to be received from the sale of the Eshkol site, whose sale process is in the final stages, and after the signing of the sale agreement."
