The fighters, in cooperation with armored forces, intelligence and engineering, worked to locate and destroy Islamic Jihad tunnel shafts. In eastern Sajaiya, a shaft leading to the route of a tunnel and a missile launcher was located nearby. As part of the activity in the northern neighborhood, shafts were located near the home of Ahmed Samra, director of Islamic Jihad's tunneling project in the northern Gaza Strip. Many weapons were found in Samra's home, terrorist organization manuals, a battle register for the October 7 attacks and a Hitler book.

During the activity to destroy the tunnel in the Beit Samara area, terrorists opened combined fire and detonated an IED inside the tunnel in an attempt to harm IDF forces to prevent the destruction of the entire route. The fighters, who noticed suspicious activity from inside the tunnel, retreated before the explosion occurred, returned fire and artillery at the terrorists and halted the attack.
