DFB-U19: Daniel Jungwirth is the new assistant coach

The new assistant coach of the German U19 national team is called Daniel Jungwirth. The ex-professional succeeds Fabian Hürzeler, who recently joined the FC St. Pauli coaching staff.

When the 2020/2021 international season is due in September , there will be some new faces at the German Football Association . One of these new faces is Daniel Jungwirth , who succeeds Fabian Hürzeler  . Jungwirth will work alongside Christian Wörns as assistant coach for the U19 of the DFB. Hürzeler, on the other hand, is moving to the second division FC St.Pauli, where he will be assistant coach for the new season. 

Daniel Jungwirth's previous coaching positions

For Jungwirth, who will continue to work for the BFV , being an assistant trainer is nothing new. The 38-year-old already held this position at FC Erding and Türkgücü Munich. With Türkgücü he was promoted to the  Bayern League in the 2017/2018 season , but due to disputes he left the club after just one season. The ex-professional also trained the U11 of FT Gern , where his son Diego plays. With the FT he managed dasBezirksfinale of Mercury CUP s reach. The former midfielder is also currently training a youth team from SV Planegg-Krailling. 

Daniel Jungwirth: "The DFB came up to me and said I fit in well with the coach profile."

Jungwirth himself is looking forward to the task at the DFB . When asked by FuPa Oberbayern /  Fußball Vorort , the 38-year-old reports that the German Football Association  has approached him and that it is “a great honor” for him. "The DFB said I fit the requirement profile well," reports the ex-professional. Jungwirth also reveals : “I already knew one or the other at the DFB -  including Christian Wörns . The world of football is small ”.
