Julia Rath has increased her collection of medals at the Bavarian Athletics Championship.
The title over the 800 meters came as a surprise, however, as Rath had to compete against the German indoor youth champion.

The Bavarian athletics championship for men and women as well as the U18 and U20 offered a contrast program.
Julia Rath, however, was a constant on both days.
The 16-year-old from Penzberg, who competes for LAC Quelle Fürth, first won the gold medal in the U18 on the 1,500-meter course and then over 800 meters.

A small surprise was the victory over the two stadium rounds.
On the one hand, the high school student already had the race over 1500 meters from the previous day in her legs.
On the other hand, the German indoor youth champion over the 800 meters, Nele Göhl (LG Eckental), was at the start.

Göhl ran the first 400 meters in 63.46 seconds - that's a speed of 22.9 km / h.
Rath could not follow at first, after 300 meters she was about ten meters behind, reported TSV Penzberg coach Markus Brennauer.
Then she closed the gap to the leader, on the back straight overtook Rath.
With a strong finish she won gold and also set a personal best with 2: 11.26 minutes.
Göhl (2: 13.71) had to be content with silver.
Bronze went to Lea Gahbauer (2: 17.95) from the LG Passau.
In the DLV best list, Rath ranks sixth among the U18 women with her time over the two rounds of the stadium.
Göhl had already run the distance in 2: 10.92 minutes (5th place) this year.
Jolanda Kallabis (TG Stockach) has the top position with 2: 08.92 minutes.
Julia Rath dominates the action over 1500 meters from the start
On her special route, the 1500 meters, Julia Rath clearly dominated the action.
The reigning German U18 champion at this distance and second on the DLV best list (4: 30.21) took over the top of the field right after the start.

The fight for the other medals was exciting: Magdalena Mayerhofer (TSV Mühldorf / 4: 53.80), Meike Kalus (TSV Graefelfing / 4: 53.92) and Laura Eisenreich (LAC Passau / 4: 53.94) were only a few Hundredths of a second apart.
Due to her success in this special year due to Corona, Rath recently received a special award, which had been awarded by TV Fürth, the city of Fürth and the BLSV Middle Franconia.
