After a brilliant 3:3 draw in the district derby of the Bayernliga Süd against SV Pullach, VfR Garching still has to worry about staying in the class.
Garching
– If there is a prime example of a trend-setting football game, then that was the case at VfR Garching on Sunday.
With a win you could secure 90 percent of the league in the Bayernliga Süd before the last two games of the season, with a defeat you would have been directly in front of the relegation places.
Neither scenario happened – the people of Garching did not get beyond a 3: 3 (2: 2) in the district duel against SV Pullach and after this spectacle kick they probably need a win to finally prepare for many more Bayernliga celebrations to look forward to in the Seestadion.
You don't often see football games where the score is 2-2 after 15 minutes.
In this case, the people of Garching had two short tours.
After just 120 seconds, Stephan Thee sent his striker Martin Schön on his way and he made it 1-0.
This lead only lasted six minutes, but as early as the 11th minute Mark Zettl made sure that the VfR song could be played as a goal anthem with a cracker in the Kreuzeck.
This time it took four minutes for Pullach to equalize (15').
After this crazy start, which Playstation soccer players are more familiar with than real kickers, SV Pullach felt like taking a tour.
In the first half, the guests came several times dangerously in front of the Garching box and sometimes miserably stumbled their chances.
Despite the two leads, the 2:2 was rather happy for Garching when going into the dressing room.
Mark Zettl's second prank
That changed fundamentally after the break.
Only VfR played for 20 minutes, taking the lead again thanks to Mark Zettl's second strike (50').
The Garching native shot the shot all by himself six meters from the goal.
The quarter of an hour after the 3:2 became dramatic and even tragic, because Garching kept getting dangerously in front of the opposing goal and failed to make a preliminary decision.
Almost out of nowhere, Max Zander completed a single action to make it 3:3 (68th), and again it was completely open in which direction the season finale should go.
Pullach demands a penalty once and had a huge chance in the 89th minute.
Before that, however, the guests almost frittered away the ball when the goalkeeper rushed far out of the box.
It was a wild kick that felt like 5:5 rather than 3:3.
The bottom line is that the point helps Garching a little more, but they have to deliver again in the last two games given that they are only four points behind the relegation places before the last three game days, on which Garching is free of play.
