The bad news at FC Langengeisling does not stop: With defense chief Andreas Buchberger, the next top performer is out in the long term.
Langengeisling – And that before the difficult game this Saturday (4 p.m.) at ESV Freilassing, who is considered one of the favorites for the title.
During his spectacular save in the 0-0 home game against Siegsdorf, Buchberger tore an inner ligament in his knee.
"Our bad luck with injuries has been a common thread since the first day of the game," says Langengeisling's sporting director Maxi Maier.
"And many are injured really badly."
ESV Freilassing currently only has three points more than FC Langengeisling.
"We now have a reverse trend," says Maier.
"We were unbeaten in the first three games, got seven points and haven't won three times now, ESV didn't win the first three games and haven't lost three times now and got seven points."
Maier sees a weakening in the failure of ESV striker Albert Deiter.
"As far as I know, he's still injured, they really care," says Langengeisling's sporting director.
"On the other hand, Freilassing has enough quality in the squad to compensate for his absence." However, ESV's goal difference of 7:7 is rather modest.
Only Langgeisling, Moosinning and Finsing scored fewer goals, namely six.
On the other hand, only Srbija Munich (5) and Peterskirchen (6) conceded less.
"Our squad situation is not easy," complains Maier.
"It sounds a bit stupid for a district league, but the team sorts itself out." The FCL has 24 men in the squad of the first, "One is blocked, one is on vacation and nine men are injured - many of them long-term .” And so Maier sums it up: “We would be more than satisfied with one point.”
