Play community Aying/Helfendorf is growing better and better together.

Aying/Helfendorf – Quite unexpectedly, the SG Aying/Helfendorf slipped into the role of the promotion favorite in the Zugspitz district class.

To be more precise: The gaming community has literally shot itself into this role with its attack force.

After a two-year dry spell, expectations ahead of the season were rather low.

"There were few players in training during this time," says Benedikt Wohlschläger.

Not least thanks to the experienced Helfendorf returnees Dominik Höcker (35) and Michael Scherer (34) from Otterfing, this has changed for the new season, according to the SG captain.

"That was really good for us because you can absolutely rely on them and they pull the boys along too." This fresh breeze carried the squad from Aying and Helfendorf to the top of the table.

"Several factors have to come together: You have to remain injury-free, you have to be lucky that the opponents play for you sometimes.

But the decisive factor was above all the cohesion, everyone pulled along, there were always 15 to 20 people in training."

Wohlschläger explains the unexpected success, which is also due to an enormously strong offensive.

50 goals in 14 games are for the SG to book.

Wohlschläger scored 22 of them alone.

The commitment of the 30-year-old had also decreased in the past two seasons as a new father and due to a career change.

"I didn't have that much time and, to be honest, not that much desire anymore," Wohlschläger explains why he rarely played before he really got going again this summer.

"I realized I was missing it.

And now I'm going through with it.

I've always had a relatively good rate, but 22 huts after the first half of the season is something special."

The attacker can clearly name the reasons for his resounding success: “You can see that it pays off if you maybe do more.

And of course the team and my strike partner Michael Demmel deserve praise.” Demmel, like Wohlschläger an Ayinger, is in second place in the scorers list with 13 goals.

Wohlschläger and Co. were only able to stop during the winter break.

In the spring, the cards will be reshuffled again due to the new mode.

Three top teams from two groups are combined.

Wohlschläger assumes that you will be dealing with ASC Geretsried, TuS Geretsried II and SV Ascholding.

The current six-point lead does not bring any advantage to the gaming community, only the placement brings a bonus.

It is likely that the top of the table will take six points, the second four and the third two points.

However, Wohlschläger is confident about the continuation of the season: “I think that our group with Deisenhofen III and Darching was a bit stronger.

And now we also want to move up.”

Such a success would perhaps bring the original clubs SF Aying and SV Helfendorf, who have been competing together since 2019, even closer together.

Wohlschläger is surprised at how harmonious the cooperation is now.

"In the beginning, the focus was more on Aying, now it's 50 to 50, among the players and also among the spectators." A small miracle happened, especially among the supporters: "Ten years ago, Aying was a brutal derby against Helfendorf and on In the beginning, some said they didn't go to other people's facilities.

In the meantime everyone is there and you can't believe who is talking to each other.

It grew together really well.”
