The Palestinian Foreign Ministry called on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities and provide international protection for the Palestinian people, especially Palestinian women, from violations of the Israeli occupation that violate international law.
In a statement on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the Foreign Ministry said that Palestinian women have the right to live in peace and security, like other women in the world, and to enjoy the necessary legal protection.
The systematic violations of their rights emphasize that violence against Palestinian women can only be eliminated by ending the occupation and its racist practices.
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry said that the number of Palestinian women martyrs to date is 10 martyrs in 2019, while the number of wounded women in the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem and in the Gaza Strip, exceeded 652 women and more than 191 children. very.
