Update Sunday, March 15th, 6:15 pm: Fischbachau community is looking for volunteers for delivery service - community council meeting on Youtube

Election director and corona crisis manager: Fischbachau's mayor Josef Lechner has his hands full this Sunday. In order to slow the spread of the virus, the community has put together a veritable package of measures. She is looking for volunteers for a delivery service and broadcasts the council meeting on the Internet. Here is the announcement:

"Due to the current CORONA development, the Fischbachau community announces the following:

1. The community is initially closed until Sunday, March 22nd, 2020. All offices are occupied and can be reached by phone or email. Personal appointments can only be made in urgent emergencies.

2. The meeting of the local council on Monday, March 23rd, 2020 will take place at 7:00 p.m. However, we kindly ask all citizens to follow the public part of the meeting from home via the Internet instead of a personal appearance on the homepage of the Fischbachau community (www.fischbachau.de).

3. We were able to attract a number of companies (eg retail) to provide deliveries on the phone. The municipality would like to offer a delivery service using its own e-mobile. Also a service for urgent errands (e.g. pharmacies). In order to be able to offer this service, we need volunteer, voluntary citizens who take over these trips with our e-bus. The more you call 08028 90660, the lower the burden on the individual will be.

4. Until the end of April 2020, all events in community rooms are prohibited. We also urgently ask you not to hold events outside the community.

5. In addition to the hotline of the district office at 08025/704 4444 in municipal matters, the hotline of the municipality at / 90660 is available for questions.

6. There is no need to panic. All of our measures are preventive in order to keep the spread of the virus as low and as slow as possible. We ask for your understanding."

Update Sunday, March 15, 6 p.m .: Despite Corona: day trippers are storming cafés and restaurants

Shutdown in nearby Tirol, full cafes and restaurants in the district of Miesbach just a few kilometers away. No matter whether ice cream parlor or Bräustüberl: the day trippers stormed the terraces in sunny weather, the cars dammed up on the streets. A reader has sent a desperate appeal to our online editorial team, which we are publishing here:

"Hello everyone, I'm just so speechless! While in neighboring Tyrol less than 30 kilometers from Lake Tegernsee there is really a state of emergency and life is arranged in a zero-risk manner, there are thousands of people crouching in the cafes at the lake in this country and you have the feeling that nobody cares !!! These people really have no spark of responsibility and most of all they still haven't understood what this is about! I am really speechless! Is it so difficult to reduce social contacts and to show responsibility? "

Update Sunday, March 15, 5 p.m .: Corona crisis overshadows local elections

The local election this Sunday is also affected by the Corona crisis. You can read about how voters and election workers deal with the risk of infection in our news ticker. We also summarize all the results and statements of the candidates.

Update Sunday, March 15, 3 p.m .: District Office limits visitor traffic, Batusa is now also closing

The Miesbach district office also seals itself off. Until April 19, the authority asks the citizens to concentrate on "personal talks". Here is the message:

"In order to curb the spread of the corona virus in Germany, the district office in Miesbach asks to currently largely avoid personal interviews in the office. Maintaining the performance of the civil service is essential. District administrator Wolfgang Rzehak has therefore decided that there will be no general opening hours at the district office from March 16, 2020 to provisionally April 19, 2020.

In order to prevent the Landratsamt from failing, all citizens should limit their personal customer contact with the Landratsamt and handle them electronically or by telephone. For many matters, a personal interview is not absolutely necessary. The employees of the district office are happy to help you make your decision by phone or email.

The following opening times only apply to the admission and driving license office in the Mobility department: Mon-Thu 7.30 a.m. - 12.30 p.m. (cut-off time) and Mon, Tue 1.30 p.m. - 3.00 p.m. (cut-off time) and Thu 1.30 p.m. - 5 p.m. (cut-off time), Fri 7.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. Clock (cut-off time).

In addition, the customer center for the specialist areas of work and social affairs and foreigners and asylum matters, as well as the citizens' service Mon-Fri 7.30 a.m. - 12.30 p.m. and Thurs 1.30 p.m. - 6.00 p.m.

A visit to all other departments is only possible in the absolutely necessary individual case and after prior appointment.

This measure serves primarily for general health prevention. In addition, the workforce is currently decimated because many employees of the district office take vacation due to their own childcare or work in the home office.

Follow-up of the infection chains, identification of contact persons and calls from concerned citizens bring the affected departments of the district office, in particular the health office, to the limits of their capabilities. These must be reinforced by personnel from other departments. We ask for your understanding of the effects this will have on accessibility and processing times.

Update Sunday, March 15, 10 a.m .: There are now 23 infected people in the Miesbach district - over 100 contact persons

The number of people who tested positive has now risen to 23. Over 100 contact persons are known. "The health department is therefore assuming an increased risk of infection and an expansion of the infection chains in the district of Miesbach," says a press release.

Therefore, the authority publishes the following rules of conduct: Anyone who has had contact with a secured infected person should go to quarantine at home for 14 days. Anyone who has been in a risk area specified by the Robert Koch Institute in the past 14 days should also go into quarantine at home for 14 days. An updated list of risk areas can be found at the Robert Koch Institute.

In addition, the district office has issued a general order. As a result, "Until further notice, visitors are not allowed to enter old people's and nursing homes, acute inpatient facilities, as well as rehabilitation facilities and hospitals in the district of Miesbach".

It goes on to say: “Exceptions to the ban on entry are therapeutic or medically necessary visits, entry by tradesmen for structural measures that cannot be postponed, and relatives in the event of an urgent emergency. These people have to announce their planned visit to the facility by phone. "

The district office explicitly recommends avoiding cinemas, baths, saunas and gyms.

The casino in Bad Wiessee has also been closed since Saturday.

Update Friday, March 13, 6:30 p.m .: Public life is coming to a standstill

The events surrounding the corona virus have been overturning since Thursday afternoon at the latest. Since it became apparent that schools in Bavaria will close on Monday and Chancellor Angela Merkel called for social contacts to be reduced to a minimum, public life has been shutting down more and more. A highlight overview of the district.

Schools and day-care centers

What some school and kindergarten managers have been demanding for days is now here: a uniform regulation across Bavaria. As of Monday, all schools and day care centers will be closed; they want to offer emergency care as needed and, if necessary, spontaneously.

Leisure facilities

With the neighbors in Tyrol and Salzburg, the winter sports season ended prematurely due to the crisis. It was not yet clear on Friday whether the local ski areas would face a similar fate. "We are watching the situation very closely," explains Antonia Asenstorfer, spokeswoman for the AlpenPlus ski areas. As of Friday, operations in the Spitzingsee-Tegernsee and Sudelfeld areas will continue until this Sunday. The decision will be made on Monday. The Wallbergbahn also runs until Sunday, but then stops operating for the annual inspection. The Wendelsteinbahn announced yesterday that it would cease operations “until further notice”. Even water rats have to be prepared for restrictions. The Bad Wiessee bathing park is closed from Saturday to April 19. The situation is different in Batusa in Holzkirchen: the municipal works want to continue normal operations for the time being. It should also be quiet on many sports fields and in the gyms. The health office advises all associations to check the need for events. It is currently not possible to use school halls for sports and club operations. The first reactions followed immediately: in Holzkirchen and Bad Wiessee all municipal sports facilities remain closed. The rules in Hausham are even stricter: the gymnasium of elementary and middle school, the adult education center, the citizens' hall, the library and the large hall of the Alpengasthof "Glück Auf" are closed until April 19.

gastronomy

Guest houses, cafés and restaurants are still open. However, the restaurateurs feel the effects of the virus massively. The Rottacher restaurateur Josef Bogner reports about "hourly cancellations". In order to keep the economic consequences within limits, he set up a delivery service and opened the outdoor season. Sophia Mairhofer from Café Winklstüberl in Fischbachau also hopes for the terrace business. "A lot of bus groups cancel us," says the junior boss. More and more places are also available in the parlors of the otherwise popular excursion café. The party mood in the Spinnradl dance café on Spitzingsee, however, does not seem to have dampened the Corona fear so far. As guests report, the disco was well filled on Thursday evening. No operators were available on Friday.

Cinemas

Concerts and theater performances in the cultural centers are canceled. Film fans still get their money's worth. "We are still open," says Katha Sohnius from the Oberland cinema center in Hausham. However, the hall capacities were minimized to 99 seats each.

Churches

Pray that everything will not be so bad? The believers at home must do that immediately. As the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising announced, no public services will take place until April 3. "An extremely difficult situation for us pastors," says Dean Michael Mannhardt. "But the only right way to stop this avalanche." The believers Mannhardt calls for "inner solidarity". In his parish associations in Miesbach and Hausham, the bells will ring during church services to commemorate prayer.

Retirement homes

Visits are now prohibited. "There is a lot of understanding," says Jürgen Pohl, managing director of the senior center Der Schwaighof in Tegernsee. "Residents and relatives support us." Without visitors, it was quite quiet in the house. "Social contacts are very important for our residents." Also in the Inge Gabert House of the AWO in Miesbach, the ban on visits is very well understood, as headed by Rosemarie Holzapfel reports. Because of the daycare and school closings, the facility has set up internal childcare for the staff. To enable residents to keep in touch with relatives, the facility enables Skype conferences via three of their own cell phones.

Update Friday, March 13, 2:40 p.m .: 16 infected people in the district, all schools and day care centers are tight

The Miesbach district office reports three new corona patients in the district in a current press release. In two cases, infection during a trip can be assumed, the third person was probably infected in a company. One patient was in the hospital, the other 15 patients were in quarantine in eight places in the district.

The authority also provides detailed information about the closings of schools and daycare centers as well as other public institutions. The cancellation of events is also an issue. Other countries have already done the same.

Here is the message:

"The Prime Minister of the Free State of Bavaria, Markus Söder, announced at a press conference: All schools, kindergartens and daycare centers in Bavaria should remain closed. This applies from Monday, March 16, 2020, until the beginning of the Easter vacation on April 6, 2020. There will be exceptions for children if the legal guardians are active in areas of critical infrastructure. In the district of Miesbach, the laboratory results of three other people tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 corona virus.

In the three new cases of proven infected persons there is a travel history twice. In one case, infection in a company can be assumed. The number of confirmed infected people in the Miesbach district thus increases to 16. One person is in the hospital. The other 15 people are in quarantine at eight locations in the county.

Prime Minister Söder said in a press conference in Munich that the schools, day care centers, day care centers and special education day care centers in the entire Free State of Bavaria should be closed from Monday. Emergency care is to be set up at schools. Furthermore, there should be exceptions in day care for children whose legal guardians are active in areas of critical infrastructure. These areas include, in particular, health care, the maintenance of public security and order and the securing of public infrastructures as well as facilities for people with disabilities and inpatient facilities for child and youth welfare. More specific details will be issued soon. Söder said: "We massively restrict the right to visit hospitals, old people's homes and nursing homes". The following should therefore apply: one visitor per day, one hour per patient. All non-acute operations should be postponed so as not to tie up capacities.

The Bavarian State Ministry of Health and Care has already banned all events with more than 1,000 visitors by general decree. This regulation applies until mid-April 2020. The wording can be found on the homepage of the Miesbach district office. According to sources from federal politics and Bavarian state politics, this limit should possibly be reduced to 100 people.

The orders of the Bavarian state government were not yet available in writing on Friday afternoon. As soon as this information is available, it will be published in full at the central URL

www.landkreis-miesbach.de/Coronavirus

The district administration is now also setting up a central telephone hotline at the weekend for all questions relating to the infectious disease.

The phones are busy on weekdays and also on weekends. Office staff can be reached on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. They can also use medical staff. The phone number is 08025/704 - 44 44.

The Miesbach district office has also issued its own general decree. This will apply from Saturday, March 14, 2020. Visits to the retirement homes in the Miesbach district will be prohibited until further notice. The risk of infection and a critical course of the disease COVID-19 increases significantly, especially in people over 60 years. To protect the residents, this regulation must therefore be made.

The health department also advises to close all leisure pools, casinos, amusement venues and meeting places. Large crowds should be avoided. Visiting rights should be restricted in the asylum seekers' accommodation. Compliance is checked by the security service. Markets like an Easter market should also not be held.

Outpatient care services must have a hygiene plan. The federal Robert Koch Institute has made regulations for the care of outpatients.

The sports clubs in the district of Miesbach are advised to check the necessity of events carefully. It is also currently not possible to use the school halls for the purposes of sports and club operations. A risk assessment in the form of a points table for events is published on the homepage of the Miesbach district office. This risk assessment comes from the Bavarian Ministry of Health. "

Update Friday, March 13, 12:57 p.m .: Bad Wiessee closes the bathing park

As of Monday (March 16), all schools, kindergartens and daycare centers in Bavaria will be closed. This is how the Free State ordered it. The first leisure facilities are now being closed in the Miesbach district. For example, operations in the Bad Wiessee bathing park will cease on Saturday (March 14) - bathing and sauna fun is no longer possible there until April 19. According to the municipality's press release, the closure of the municipal bath was ordered by Mayor Peter Höß in coordination with the health department at the Miesbach district office. This is intended to support "curbing the spread of the corona virus". In addition to the bathing park, the school sports hall and the sports center on Hagngasse will also be closed.

Update Thursday, March 12, 5.48 p.m .: Corona coordination staff with new information

The Corona coordination staff met at the Miesbach district office. The staff includes representatives from the Agatharied Hospital, emergency doctors, resident doctors and the Miesbach District Office - for example from civil protection or the health department. As the authority reports, there were four skiers from Ischgl in Tyrol from the newly known group of the positively tested. The sick are now in domestic quarantine in various places in the district.

In the district of Miesbach, four schools are now affected by the virus. The elementary school Wall is closed until Friday (March 13th). Here the result of the examination of a teacher with cold symptoms is still pending. The Gmund primary school closes until Friday, March 27th. Again, there is a confirmed Corona case among the teachers. In the Holzkirchen market, the private high school and private elementary school remain closed until further notice. At the middle school Miesbach two classes of the fifth and sixth grades are exempt from teaching.

Update Thursday, March 12, 3:55 p.m .: Number of corona cases increased to 13

The corona crisis in the Miesbach district is widening: the number of confirmed cases of illness has meanwhile increased from six to 13. That explained district office spokesman Birger Nemitz on Thursday afternoon. One person is currently being treated in the hospital. Among the sick is a teacher from Gmund - the school was closed.

Update Wednesday, March 11, 5:30 p.m .: Sixth case confirmed

Another corona case in the Miesbach district. As the health office informed yesterday in the district committee, the virus was detected in another person. It is a man who got infected in Seefeld in Tirol. The infected person is in quarantine at home, as are his identified contact persons. On average, around 20 samples per day are currently sent to the laboratory for testing.

In total, six people have been infected in the Miesbach district since the outbreak of the coronavirus. However, all of them are "almost healthy again", said health department manager Margarita Mühlenfeld in the district committee. The only patient who was treated for COVID-19 in the Agatharied hospital had already left the hospital last Thursday, said district press spokesman Birger Nemitz.

An information whose passing on is also dear to the hospital team. As Nemitz reports, many people are afraid to go to a hospital where corona patients have been treated. "Other hospitals are currently bursting at the seams."

Update Tuesday, March 10, 6:30 p.m .: General practitioners set up a central test center

Normal cold or Corona? A question that is of particular concern these days for vacationers returning from the risk areas in Italy. Only a laboratory test can bring you certainty. However, the capacities are limited. There has been a new contact point in the district since Monday. Like the chairman of the district medical association, Dr. Thomas Strassmüller, our newspaper reports, the family doctors in the district have set up a central test station on their own initiative. Meanwhile, the health department reported a fifth case of infection on Tuesday evening.

Strassmüller does not want to reveal the exact location. Reason: He wants to avoid that there is a sudden rush for the new offer. You can't go just like that anyway, emphasizes the doctor. Only people who have a reasonable suspicion (symptoms plus stay in the risk area) of the coronavirus are tested. The family doctor must determine this by telephone and then issue the patient with a written transfer for the test center.

Every day at lunchtime, a family doctor from the district - with virological full protective equipment - takes the drawbacks. According to Strassmüller, a handful of medical professionals volunteered to keep the business running over the five working days. The patients wait outside with a sufficient distance from each other and enter the room individually.

In any case, the doctor on duty does not get bored. On Monday, Strassmüller tested 30 people within an hour and a half. A confirmation of the new offer that the primary care physicians have created in order to provide patients with an alternative to the heavily used hotline 116 117 of the on-call service of the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians in Bavaria (KVB).

Update Tuesday, March 10, 6 p.m .: Fifth Corona case confirmed - rejection recommendation renewed

The district of Miesbach has its fifth case of infection. As the spokesman for the district office, Birger Nemitz, reports, the person suffering from the coronavirus is a man who was previously on vacation in the Austrian state of Tyrol and therefore not in a risk area. The health department is currently investigating the man's contact persons. As a result, the number of corona infected on Tuesday evening was five.

At the same time, the public health office again issued an "urgent recommendation" to cancel events in the district due to the risk of spreading the virus or to postpone them until the second half of the year. Furthermore, the district agreed with the regulation of the Free State that events with more than 1000 participants should fundamentally no longer take place.

Update Tuesday, March 10, 4:45 p.m .: Primary school teacher suspected of being corona

There is suspicion of corona at the primary school in Wall (Warngau). A teacher fell ill after a vacation in South Tyrol, but has already been tested. The first class is free until Wednesday.

Update Monday, March 9, 3 p.m .: Further coronavirus tests are ongoing, school dropout by Wednesday

The spread of the corona virus continues to accelerate throughout Bavaria. The district of Miesbach is struggling against this disturbing trend. The number of infected people remains at four, Birger Nemitz, spokesman for the Miesbach district office, said on request. "There has been no change since Friday," says Nemitz.

The tests, on the other hand, continue to run. A good 60 smears from people from the district are currently in the laboratory for testing, Nemitz informs. They come not only from contact persons of the infected, but also from civil protection and hospital staff. "It is particularly important for them that they do not fail," emphasizes the spokesman for the authority. The employees of the health department would also have priority. Although there is a lot of material shortage of protective equipment in many places: Nemitz recently delivered 1,500 disposable gloves to the health department.

There is also news for the students of the private all-day school in Holzkirchen, where, as reported, there has been a confirmed Corona case. As Nemitz explains, there will be no classes here until Wednesday. The primary school of the porter will reopen on Tuesday.

However, the general decree of the Ministry of Health has caused uncertainty, according to which schoolchildren and kindergarten children who have been in a Corona risk area within the past 14 days must stay at home for 14 days. According to Nemitz, the question arose repeatedly whether contact persons for these children should not come to the facility. This, says the spokesman for the district office, is not so. "These indirect contact persons are not affected by the general will."

Update Sunday, March 8, 5 p.m .: Ministry of Health issues general decree

Good news at the weekend: the number of district citizens infected with the corona virus has not increased for the time being and remains unchanged at four. This was explained by Birger Nemitz, the district press spokesman, when asked by Miesbacher Merkur . As in all of Bavaria, the new general decree issued by the Ministry of Health applies here, according to which children and young people who have recently been in a risk area are not allowed to go to school or daycare in the coming week. Here is the message:

"The Free State of Bavaria intensifies the fight against the SARS-CoV-2 corona virus. The Bavarian State Ministry of Health and Care has now issued a general order. Children and adolescents who have been in a risk area will not be allowed to visit the school or facility in the coming week. So far this was only a recommendation, now it is a binding order. Schools, day care centers, day care centers and special needs schools are affected.

The ministry explains: So, for example, if a schoolchild returned to Bavaria from a risk area at the end of the carnival holiday on March 1, 2020, they cannot go to school for the entire week to come.

The Bavarian Ministry of Health issued the general decision after consultation with the Bavarian State Ministry for Education and Culture and the Bavarian State Ministry for Family, Work and Social Affairs. It entered into force on Saturday, March 7, 2020. The order is not limited. If the risk is assessed again, the general order will be canceled.

According to the decision, pupils and kindergarten children, for example, are not allowed to go to school or the facility for 14 days after returning from South Tyrol.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) determines which areas are considered risk areas. South Tyrol was classified as a corona virus risk area by the RKI on Thursday evening. These areas are in addition to Italy in China, Iran and South Korea.

It also defines exactly what "delayed" means: schoolchildren or children up to the start of the school have been in a risk area if they summarized there at least 15 minutes of contact with someone other than the fellow travelers at a distance of less than 75 centimeters had.

Parents are obliged to ensure compliance with this regulation. If the children and adolescents have been in a risk area in the past 14 days, they may not go to school or take advantage of childcare facilities, day care centers or day care centers.

If the school management, the teachers or the staff of a school, day care center or special needs school or a day care worker becomes aware that there was a stay in a risk area, the pupils concerned and the children may not be looked after.

Update Friday, March 6, 5 p.m .: Further school dropout not yet fixed

New information about school dropouts at the private all-day school in Holzkirchen: According to the district office, the school will remain closed until Monday, March 9th. On this day, a possible extension will be discussed.

Update Friday, March 6, 3:30 p.m .: Two more people infected - South Tyrol risk area

The number of people suffering from coronavirus in the district has doubled since Thursday - but still at a low level. On Friday afternoon, the health department confirmed two more cases of infection. They also come from the twelve-member travel group from the north of the district who was skiing in South Tyrol. A man and a boy are affected. Because the latter attends the private all-day school in Holzkirchen, according to the district office, the loss of lessons is being extended for an indefinite period. Originally, the students should have returned to the classroom on Tuesday.

According to Birger Nemitz, spokesman for the district office, the hospital currently only has the man who was first diagnosed with the virus. The girl has since been released from the hospital. All other patients and their contact persons are in quarantine at home. According to Nemitz, the tests of the other members of the travel group were negative.

Meanwhile, the Robert Koch Institute has expanded the risk areas in Italy to include South Tyrol. The district office reports:

“South Tyrol, the Emilia-Romagna region, the Lombardy region and the city of Vo in the province of Padua in the Veneto region are now considered risk areas in Italy. The Hubei province with the city of Wuhan in Iran, the province of Qom and Tehran and the province of Gyeongsangbuk-do (North Gyeongsang) in South Korea continue to be considered risk areas. Anyone who has been in these areas for the past 14 days is asked to stay at home with flu symptoms. You should definitely consult your family doctor in advance by phone or contact the emergency service on 116 117. "

Update Thursday, March 5, 7.30 p.m .: Further test results will probably not be available until tomorrow

Upon request, the district office announced that the results of the ten further suspected corona cases in the district will probably not be available until Friday morning. The commissioned laboratory is also working at the limit.

Update Thursday, March 5, 7 p.m .: Own ticker for event cancellations

Due to the large number of event cancellations, we decided to outsource them to our own ticker. You can find it here.

Update Thursday, March 5, 6:30 p.m .: Clinic does not rule out bottlenecks

Safety is also the motto at Agatharied Hospital. Corona patients are isolated here in specially designated areas, reports clinic boss Michael Kelbel when asked by our newspaper. There was no need for any special preparations for dealing with the patients, since the treatment of infectious patients was standard in a hospital. Depending on the number of patients to be accommodated in isolation, the pandemic plan for the hospital provides for between 18 and 40 beds.

At the same time, the specially created clinic task force severely restricted visitor traffic on Thursday. Only direct family members (e.g. spouses) of patients may continue to enter the hospital. Visitors with cold symptoms such as cough, runny nose, diarrhea or fever should "explicitly stay away" from the clinic, according to a current message.

Bottlenecks - also when it comes to protective equipment for staff - are not to be feared thanks to "early preventive storage", emphasizes Kelbel. If the hospital only has to deal with the treatment of really seriously ill patients in the future, there should be no problems. "However, if corona patients still have to be isolated in the hospital for 14 days, even though they have no or only very slight symptoms of the disease," says Kelbel, "bottlenecks could actually not be ruled out."

Update Thursday, March 5, 2 p.m .: Privatgymnasium Holzkirchen reports two suspected cases

In a letter to parents, the Holzkirchen private high school reports that two of its students "are likely to have Corona". Since both students were at school on Monday and Tuesday, the health department had instructed to immediately send all students of the high school and primary school home. The school will remain closed on Friday and Monday.

Update Thursday, March 5, 1.45 p.m .: Health Department advises that events be canceled

Now we're getting one after the other. In a press release, the health authority advises organizers to postpone their events - regardless of the number of people involved. If events are to be held, the organizers would have to guarantee that there is no admission for people with signs of illness ”. They should also ensure adequate ventilation and hand hygiene.

Update Thursday, March 5, 12.45 p.m .: Hospital limits visitor traffic

The Agatharied hospital responds to the first cases of coronavirus in the Miesbach district. From now on, visitor traffic will be severely restricted and events will be canceled. Here is the press release in the original sound:

“As a precautionary measure against the spread of the coronavirus, visitor traffic in Agatharied Hospital is now being restricted. The hospital coronavirus task force (consisting of management, medical and nursing directorate, hygiene department, central emergency room and other disciplines) decided this in coordination with the health department. Only visits from direct family members (e.g. spouses) are still permitted. Visitors with cold symptoms such as cough, runny nose, diarrhea, fever etc. should expressly stay away from the hospital.

"We decided to take this precaution to protect our patients and employees," says Managing Director Michael Kelbel. “We are aware that the situation can be very stressful. Many of our patients have a compromised immune system. In order to protect them, we decided to restrict access for visitors. ”In addition, everything had to be done in order to be able to continue to treat all patients fully - from possible coronavirus patients to heart attack patients or the expectant mother. The greatest danger currently comes from previously unrecognized patients who unwittingly spread the coronavirus. The Robert Koch Institute anticipates further cases, infection chains and outbreaks in Germany. The hospital task force shares this assessment.

As a further precaution, there will be no events with external participants at the Agatharied Hospital until the end of March. This includes all lectures and training that are not absolutely necessary. Office hours continue to take place.

First report Thursday, March 5, 11:15 a.m .: Two coronavirus cases in the Miesbach district

The corona virus has arrived in the Miesbach district. As the Bavarian Ministry of Health reports, two people in the Miesbach district have tested positive. As announced by the district office on request, it is a man who was skiing in South Tyrol as a member of a group of twelve people. He went to his family doctor on Monday. After the positive finding, he is now in quarantine in the Agatharied hospital.

Both of them are in quarantine at Agatharied Hospital

The group consisted of three families. In a second, a child showed mild symptoms. The test was also positive here. It is now also in the hospital. The other ten people were also cut back. The results are pending. The district office expects that they will be available this evening. The families are under quarantine at home. This is removed if the tests do not show any coronavirus infection.
