An emergency requires an emergency government

Only three weeks have passed since the current Knesset elections, 23, and it seems that eternity has passed since then. The crown was not placed on anyone's head, it just entered our blood. Anyone who understands which dramas can happen in two or three weeks can understand what might happen here in the next two weeks, and anyone who understands this cries "Emergency Government Now!" The Bank of Israel yesterday estimated that the good scenario is a price tag of NIS 90 billion. There is also a mid-scenario that reaches NIS 130 billion, which is not the worst either. This is the cost of a high-intensity war on all fronts. We see it, the data is in front of us, but we continue with the politics of routine.

Dr. Ron Tomer, president of the Manufacturers Association, told Israel Today, quite rightly, that "if it were a war, an immediate emergency government would be formed." But this virus is quiet. And it doesn't raise smoke, so it confuses us.

We forgot that the Histadrut threatened to restore the economy because of work accidents at the construction sites; We have forgotten the threat of economic downturns due to the elderly pensions. Where is the Histadrut today? Why is it not threatening to restore the economy until an emergency government is established? Until an emergency budget law is enacted that promises payments to the one million unemployed who will be here soon? The President of Manufacturing said in that conversation with us that such a downtime would not be responsible these days. The truth is that silence on their part is even less responsible. The concern of those bodies seems to be that such a call will play to the prime minister, who will head the same emergency government. However, as mentioned earlier, the alternative can be catastrophic.
