The Council of State limited Friday the power of the mayors in the fight against the coronavirus, judging that they could not take other measures than those decided by the State within the framework of the state of emergency, except "Compelling reasons".

In a decision setting out this principle and rendered in summary proceedings, the highest administrative court confirmed the cancellation of a decree of the mayor of Sceaux (Hauts-de-Seine) which required the wearing of a protective mask in its commune.
