The data shows that opposition to applying sovereignty comes entirely from the left side of the map. The segmentation of the answers shows that among the right-wing voters, Shas, and Jewish power, no one opposed the move.

An absolute majority on the right

The survey was conducted this week among Israeli residents aged 18 and over, who represent a representative sample of the country's population. The survey was conducted through an Internet panel of 505 people. The statistical error size is 4.4% at 95% confidence level.

Do you support the application of Israeli law on the Jordan Valley, planned by the Israeli government and receiving US support?

The data appears in a position paper of the Jerusalem Institute for Strategy and Security (JISS), which deals with preparations and recommendations and ways of action for implementing the Trump Peace Plan in stages. The authors of the document, the institute's president, Prof. Ephraim Inbar, and his deputy, Col. (res.) Dr. Eran Lerman, urge the Israeli government to apply Israeli law to the Jordan Valley and areas of significant security significance in the Jerusalem area, such as Ma'aleh Adumim and Gush Etzion.

"An alternative to the impasse"

"The results of the survey unequivocally prove that these settlements are anchored in the national consensus in Israel," the researchers wrote, "in light of this, and given the security and historical importance of these areas, the national unity government should take advantage of the fitness hour and receive the Trump program on all counts, Including negotiations to establish a Palestinian state. The Trump program is the most realistic route to progress as a practical alternative to the current impasse, hence the primary importance of laying the foundations for its gradual implementation. "

Prepare for violence

At the same time, Dr. Lerman and Prof. Inbar recommend taking steps such as infrastructure investment, which will demonstrate to the Palestinian side that they also have a "political horizon" and concrete profits due to exiting the current political stalemate. Discreet with Egypt and Jordan and increased contacts with key countries in the international community to reduce diplomatic damage, and the possibility of violent or "popular" moves by the Palestinian Authority should also be prepared.
