Iranian President Hassan Rouhani stressed that the International Day of Jerusalem is a symbol of the steadfastness, unity and cohesion of Muslims in defending the Palestinian cause, stressing that the principle of "Jerusalem is the capital of Palestine" is not subject to change.
The news agency IRNA quoted Rouhani as saying in a statement on the occasion of the International Jerusalem Day that the holding ceremony for the oppressed Palestinian people is a symbol of the stability, unity and cohesion of Muslims in defending their goals, noting that the Iranian people have always been a pioneer in supporting oppressed people in the world, especially the Palestinian people.
Al-Quds International Day falls on the last Friday of Ramadan as an expression of solidarity with the Palestinian people against the Israeli occupation.
