A 44-year-old nurse died after being shot in the chest when she was caught in the middle of a shooting between rival gangs, in the Buenos Aires town of Florencio Varela.
The incident occurred minutes before 5 o'clock at the intersection of Islas Orcadas and Rauch streets, where the victim, despite seeking refuge, was hit by one of the shots.
The first information indicates that the woman, identified as Griselda Lassala, was with a colleague waiting for the bus when the shooting began.
According to witnesses, there were at least 18 shots fired at the scene.
After the event, the police arrested a young man, a participant in the shooting, and near the place they found a 9mm caliber firearm.
