Since the end of December, residents and employees of retirement homes in the district have been able to get vaccinated.

A random survey, however, shows: The willingness is not too high, at least among the staff.

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen

- The "Josefistift" started in the district: On December 27th, the first people were vaccinated against the corona virus in the Tölz nursing home.

While 56 of 95 residents have already received their first injection, only 17 of the 95 employees have been vaccinated so far.

"The willingness is very restrained," says the home manager Bettina Emmrich.

According to the results of a random survey, staff in other care facilities in the district are also hesitant.

Home manager does not want to put pressure on employees

The reason is the same for many: "The vaccine is not yet fully developed, that is an issue for many," says Emmrich.

Many allergy sufferers also struggle with the vaccination.

The home manager does not want to put any pressure on her employees: "I give them a free choice, even if they work in a nursing home: that is their personal decision." This strategy seems to be working: According to Emmrich, it will be at the second appointment on January 17th also give several first vaccinations.

A little more than half of the 68 residents have so far been vaccinated at the AWO dementia center in Wolfratshausen.

“There were a little fewer nurses,” says quality manager Gabi Strauhal.

Expressed in numbers, this means that around a third of around 80 employees have had themselves vaccinated.

Strauhal himself belongs to the group of the vaccinated.

"I am convinced that we can only get out of the lockdown if a large part of the population has been vaccinated." The quality manager shows understanding for everyone who is afraid of undesirable side effects.

And especially for relatives who have to make this decision for their loved ones suffering from dementia.

“I try not to influence.

Everyone has to make this decision themselves. ”Nevertheless, Strauhal is pleased that, from her point of view, the vaccination speaks for itself: none of the vaccinated persons, including herself, have so far had to struggle with undesirable side effects.

"I hope that this fact leads to greater acceptance."

In Schlehdorf, 90 percent of employees are ready to be vaccinated

The decision for or against a vaccination was taken from the employees and residents of the “Zum Jaud” retirement home in Bad Heilbrunn.

According to the home manager Monika Lachmuth, most of them have already been infected with the virus in the course of the corona outbreak (we reported).

That is why only a few will be vaccinated when a mobile team from the Aicher Group comes to the retirement home the week after next.

“But we have some skeptics, especially among the older people,” says Lachmuth.

There was also a corona outbreak in the “Lindenhof” care center in Schlehdorf, which is now under control (we reported).

According to the home manager Jörg Kahl, this fact is not the reason why the willingness to vaccinate is very high.

That was asked for before the outbreak.

It turned out that around 90 percent of nurses want to be vaccinated.

About half of the housekeeping and kitchen staff relied on a syringe, and more than 90 percent of the home residents.

In the Rupert Mayer senior citizens' home Seehof in Kochel am See, the numbers among the residents are slightly lower, Kahl knows, who also runs this facility.

"About a third to half of the staff have been vaccinated." Just like himself. "I would like all employees to be vaccinated."

In the district nursing home, the employees are rather hesitant

The Lenggries nursing home is a long way from this wish: only 17 percent of the staff want to be vaccinated, says Kreisklinik manager Ingo Kühn, who is responsible for the facility in Lenggries.

Kühn doesn't worry about that.

“I believe that the willingness to be vaccinated will increase little by little when you can see that the side effects are absent.” According to Kühn, the rate of those who want to be vaccinated is 76 percent of the residents of the retirement home in Lenggries.
