A man in his fifties, entrenched and "
potentially in possession of a handgun
", sequesters for several hours this Sunday evening his ex-companion in Folschviller (Moselle) where the GIGN was called in as reinforcement, has - we learned from the prosecution.
This man, born in 1963, is entrenched "
since 4 or 5 pm
" in a housing of a "
suburban zone
" and "would
demand the resumption of the common life
" with his ex-partner whom he retains, indicated to the 'AFP the prosecutor of the Republic of Sarreguemines, Olivier Glady.
The latter was not immediately able to specify the age of the ex-girlfriend.

He let the couple's children go (...) they were the ones who sounded the alarm,
" added Olivier Glady.
The children, whose age was not specified, "
reported that he was in possession of a weapon which would be a handgun,
" added the prosecutor.
"
The weapon he would be in possession of is not clearly established,
" added the magistrate, however.

No gunshot has been heard
" since the start of the hostage-taking, he added.
The GIGN arrived from the Paris region and started negotiations with it, he added.
According to the regional daily

, which quotes the mayor of Folschviller, Didier Zimny, the kidnapped person would be a municipal employee.

The couple has been separated for a few years,
