The Christian denominations in Syria that follow the Western calendar celebrated the glorious Easter today by holding prayers and services, while applying the precautionary measures to combat the Coronavirus.
In the Church of Jesus working for the Syriac Catholics in the Dwelah neighborhood of Damascus, a Divine Liturgy was held chaired by Archbishop Jihad Battah, Archbishop of Damascus for the Syriac Catholics, in which he emphasized the lofty meanings of the glorious Easter feast, pointing out that the message of the Resurrection is that God is love and we as Syrians must bear it all and imitate this miracle in the face of what Our country is exposed to dangers and conspiracies, and the endeavor to work together in order to build and resurrect an independent, immune, prosperous and secure homeland.
Battah said: We all pray for Syria and for our army and martyrs, and everyone who ascended in love and defense of it, beseeching God Almighty to preserve President Bashar Al-Assad and our brave army who have proven themselves in defending and protecting Syria.
