The Prime Minister, Engineer Hussein Arnous, inaugurated today the Lami renewable (solar) photovoltaic station with a capacity of 1 megawatt, located in the east of Hama and the Hama Citadel Archaeological and Tourist Park.

Engineer Arnous said in a press statement: The plant project contributes to saving energy and preserving a clean environment, especially in light of the current circumstances and the economic blockade and unfair sanctions against Syria, stressing that the government encourages businessmen and investors to establish such projects that will reduce pressures on energy carriers and their sources. .

In turn, Engineer Ghassan Al-Zamil, Minister of Electricity, said in a similar statement: Syria enjoys good solar brightness for a long period of the year and is stable with solar energy, which makes it a suitable environment for investment in projects of solar power plants, in which investors who own these projects can recover their capital within a maximum period of 5 years From operating the station, calling on Syrian investors inside and outside Syria to invest in alternative solar energy.

He stressed that the Ministry of Electricity has spared no effort to enact laws and legislation and provide facilities in order to revitalize this promising industry.

For his part, Ghassan Khalif, the owner and investor of the station, said in a statement to reporters that the photovoltaic projects relying on renewable energy are economically and environmentally feasible, especially in light of the current circumstances and the unilateral coercive measures imposed by Western countries against the Syrian people because of the provision of oil derivatives, indicating that the station It saves about 3,500 tons of fossil fuel annually

Khalif called on investors and capital owners to invest in electricity generation projects based on renewable energy, pointing out that the station that was inaugurated today has a capacity of 1 megawatt, in addition to another station belonging to it that was put into service at the end of last year with a capacity of 1 megawatt as well.

The Prime Minister also inaugurated the archaeological and touristic Hama Castle Park, after it was rehabilitated and closed for 10 years due to the conditions of the terrorist war on Syria.

The governor of Hama, Muhammad Tariq Kreshati, said in a speech during the opening: We open the gates of the Hama Castle tourist and archaeological park in front of the people of the city, its guests and visitors who were prevented by terrorism over the past years from visiting it, and today it returns to life again with the vigor of the men of the Syrian Arab Army and the efforts of the concerned authorities in the governorate after rehabilitating the park and its various facilities Service and its infrastructure to be a natural outlet for its people and visitors.

He pointed out that the Citadel Park witnessed several service works to rehabilitate it while preserving its cultural and heritage texture, indicating that the area of ​​the park is about 50 dunums, and many of its sites have been put up for investment in support of the revitalization of popular tourism.

After that, the Aram Folklore Band presented performance, heritage, lyrical and musical performances that won the admiration and appreciation of the attendees and spread joy and joy in their hearts.

In a statement to SANA correspondent, Eng. Murhaf Hajj Zain, Chairman of the Hama City Council, explained that the ancient Hama Citadel Park has witnessed during the last period comprehensive rehabilitation and maintenance work for its gardens, facilities, lighting networks, children's games, benches and the like, with the renewal and pruning of green spaces through pruning and planting fruit trees and decoration and rehabilitation of corridors that flow In its entirety, it is improving the reality of this park, which enjoys a popular position with the people of Hama and its guests, as they find a place for rest, recreation and an opportunity to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The opening ceremony of the Hama Citadel Archaeological Park was attended by Minister of Tourism, Engineer Radwan Martini, Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Talal Barazi, Governor of Raqqa Abdul Razzaq Khalifa, Governor of Idlib Major General Muhammad Ntouf, Secretary of the Hama Branch of the Arab Socialist Baath Party Ashraf Bashouri and popular events.

It is worth noting that the area of ​​the ancient Hama Citadel Park is more than 50 dunums from the top and 100 dunums from the bottom. It is located on the northwestern bank of the Orontes River, with a gorgeous view of the Bab al-Nahr site.
