Horst Tappert in Paunzhausen: The famous TV actor lived in the Ampertal community for a few years.

Freising - What Tappert brought to Paunzhausen can no longer be clarified.

It was probably due to the convenient proximity to the state capital with its Bavaria studios - and the significantly lower cost of living in the country.

Because Tappert had gained a lot of stage and film experience in the early 1960s (including the 1962 street sweeper "The Scarf" based on a story by Francis Durbridge), but he had not yet made it to a familiar face on television screens .

Residents of the "villa"

In retrospect, the fact that Tappert rented a rental in Paunzhausen also shows his rather modest financial means.

However, and the actor was probably not spoiled for choice, he lived in the so-called villa on Parkstrasse, which has remained almost unchanged until today.

A stroke of luck: journalist and photographer Georg Fruhstorfer (1915 to 2003) drove to Paunzhausen in October 1965, six months before the street sweeper was broadcast, to win the actor over for a photo series.

The photo series

This photographic documentation really has it all: Fruhstorfer pressed the shutter button 40 times and fortunately recorded not only Tappert but also the changes in the village landscapes. The Paunzhausen can hardly be recognized in the background of the town sign. On some photos with the title “group picture” there is also a big surprise to see - there is the then mayor Andreas Daniel, in office from 1949 to 1966, next to the actor. However, why the photographer chose the cowshed as the location will no longer be clear - maybe just because it fits in with country life. Further photographs show the actor from Elberfeld near Wuppertal in front of the villa or in his apartment - often with his wife Ursula and his boxer dog "Hannes". Or,and that falls under the supposed Bavarian idyll: feeding pigs in the “pigsty”.

The research

Already 55 years ago, almost exactly to the month, Horst Tappert's photograph on the Paunzhausen town sign made it into the daily newspaper.

The reason: The FT referred to the three-part series “The gentlemen ask for cash”.

The caption also revealed a lot of tension: "This Tuesday evening and two other evenings he will teach the Paunzhausers how to shudder!" Just one year after his role as robber Michael Donegan, Tappert moved to Munich.

From 1974 to 1998 he slipped into his most famous role and became Chief Inspector Stephan Derrick.

Horst Tappert died in Planegg in 2008 at the age of 85.
