Bike park with blemishes: "Miles away from Gmund and Waakirchen"

The initiators of a bike park on Kreuzstrasse are working hard to ensure that the project is implemented. There is also talk of new bike paths there. But so far no one has apparently spoken to the landowners. The initiators of a bike park on Kreuzstrasse are working hard to ensure that the project is implemented.

There is also talk of new bike paths there.

But so far no one has apparently spoken to the landowners.

Those affected include Maximilian Heiden, owner of the Kanzlerhof and, for the most part, also the areas that would be necessary for the cycle path.

Gmund / Waakirchen - When Maximilian Heiden, whose Chancellor's court between Waakirchen and Kreuzstrasse also includes most of the meadows between the railway line to Schaftlach and the B 472, watches the reports on the planned bike park, Franz Josef Strauss comes to mind. He once compared the SPD with the navigator Christopher Columbus: “When he set off, he didn't know where he was going. When he arrived he didn't know where he was. When he came back, he didn't know where he was, and all of that with someone else's money. ”Heiden sees parallels with the Waakirchen municipal council. “He wants a bike park, but doesn't know where. He contributes to the costs, but doesn't know which one, and plans a cycle path on properties that do not belong to him, all with someone else's money. "

Basically, says Heiden, owner of the Königlich-Bayerischen Hofgoldschmiede Heiden in Munich, one has to give the initiators Ralf Jirgens and Simon Englhart respect for their project.

A project that should have been located at the Tegernseer Hof in Finsterwald as a first attempt.

Because residents protested violently, the local council decided on the alternative location Kreuzstrasse at the end of April.

As a result, the Waakirchner were in favor of the location and for a cooperation with Gmund.

Planned bike park: "Ostin amusement park would be the better location"

Heiden believes that the initiators' commitment to the bike park is exemplary. “They tackle where others have long discussions.” However, the location has a “blemish”: “It is kilometers away from Gmund and Waakirchen.” Waakirchen intends to build a cycle path along the B 472 with the Rosenheim State Building Authority and this has already been stated in the resolution, surprises the owner of the Chancellor's Court. “Nobody has spoken to us property owners,” he says. Heiden is amazed that generous amounts of money are now being spent on where connections were closed in the past. Heiden addresses a dispute from 2012: At that time, the community had de-dedicated the path from Hauserdörfl to his property on Baumgarten and made it a private road, because they did not want to pay for the renovation of a level crossing that was open there. "Now should I and the property owners, who are affected by the closed level crossing and have had to take kilometers of detours, cede land?" Heiden doubts willingness to do so. For him there is a better location than Kreuzstrasse anyway - namely the amusement park in Ostin, where a structure including a summer toboggan run, climbing park and gastronomy is already in place and tax money has been invested for the access. However, the Gmund committee rejected this location.Surrender land? ”Heiden doubts willingness to do so. However, the Gmund committee rejected this location.

Initiator Ralf Jirgens also considers it unsuitable: “The journey is too mountainous, it's too difficult for children who come with Bikpark bikes.” In addition, the amusement park is run commercially there.

The planned bike park, on the other hand, is to be operated by the new Bike Crew division of Sportfreunde Gmund.

Planned bike park at Tegernsee: Initiators will soon present a concrete plan

Jirgens and his colleagues are already directing their gaze entirely to Kreuzstrasse. In the meantime, a concrete plan has been drawn up that will be presented to the next Gmund meeting. Talks had not only taken place with the Lower Nature Conservation Authority, but also with the district's inclusion office, as the parking lot and access to the pump tracks are to be built to be handicapped accessible. At an online meeting, Jirgens reports, the next steps were recently discussed. There were not only representatives of the communities of Gmund and Waakirchen, but also the sports clubs Waakirchen, Schaftlach and Gmund as well as the Tegernseer Tal secondary school and sponsors. How much the system will cost and who will pay what amount is still open.

Jirgens believes that it is up to the municipalities to build cycle paths to the facility.

“The Bikepark project shows that they have actually been necessary for a long time.” It is still uncertain whether property owners like Maximilian Heiden will be involved.

"Until the most expensive variant is found," says Heiden with an ironic undertone, "the young people are no longer teenagers and on their bikes, but rather with their own car on the main road towards Munich."
