A car accident occurred in Yau Ma Tei.
At nearly 2:30 this (20th) morning, a van was driving along Waterloo Road towards Ferry Street.
On the way to No. 42 Waterloo Road near the Yau Ma Tei Fire Station, he lost control and shook the pavement several meters of iron fence. Then several bicycles, fire hydrants and electric boxes along the road were swept away. The left front wheel also flew off.
After the accident, there was smoke at the scene. Witnesses reported that several people were injured and trapped in the car. However, when rescuers arrived, the car was empty and the driver and others did not know where they were.
According to sources, the vehicle permits involved were torn away; the police officers seized multiple mobile phones and wallets in the vehicle, as well as a large stack of 1,000 yuan in cash. The preliminary count was about 100,000 Hong Kong dollars.
The police seized the exhibits for investigation, and tracked down the whereabouts of the persons involved and investigated the cause of the accident.
