Meretz MK Yair Golan was interviewed by News 12, and tried to explain why he called the residents of the Chumash outpost "subhumans". You can call them lowly rioters. "

After calling the residents of the Chumash outpost "sub-human", MK Yair Golan was interviewed tonight (Thursday) by News 12 and said: "I regret the statement, it may be an unsuccessful statement made in a storm of emotions and out of anger."

However, it was not a full apology, but a weak one when immediately afterwards Golan emphasized: "The problem is not my statements but that there is a group that systematically and consistently harms innocent people and IDF soldiers." And claimed that they were making a law for themselves "endangering us all" and that this was "the bitter truth even though they did not like to hear it".

As stated, in an interview earlier in Yaakov Ayalon's program on the Knesset channel, Golan said of the residents of Chumash: "These are not people, these are subhumans, despicable people, the spoilage of the Jewish people. "And to bring law and order back into space. This extreme nationalist rampage will bring us disaster."

Now, in an interview with News 12 he said that these are things that can come out in an interview and may not have a place.

However, he continued to attack the residents of Chumash.

"Internal dangers are more important than external ones. It needs to be uprooted. Whoever desecrates graves, harms property and acts violently and I am very sorry that the media ignores it."

Golan's remarks were condemned by Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and by Minister Ayelet Shaked.

"His remarks about the settlers in Chumash are shocking, generalizing and bordering on blood libel. Settlement in Judea and Samaria is the pioneering of today," Bennett said. "This violence endangers Bennett as prime minister much more than one statement or another. I am sorry for the statements of the prime minister and Minister Shaked."
