A woman died and two men were injured in a shooting that occurred Friday night at a Hispanic church in the town of Aurora, Colorado, according to local police.
The shots were reported shortly after 8 pm at the Faro de Luz church, located in a commercial complex at 538 North Olathe Street.
When officers arrived they found a 36-year-old woman deceased and two men, one 42 and one 40-year-old wounded.
Both were taken to hospital and are expected to survive, police said.
The authorities detailed that at the time of the incident in the church there were between 15 and 20 people.
Although the causes of the attack are not yet clear, investigators know that there is a personal connection between the suspect and one of the victims of the shooting, as detailed in the official police statement.
"Investigators are working hard to identify and track down the suspect and hopefully arrest him," Officer Matthew Longshore, public information officer for the Aurora Police Department, told a news conference.
"It wasn't just a random shooting inside this church ... there is some kind of relationship between one of the victims and the suspect," Longshore said, declining to elaborate.

A fourth adult who was at the crime scene was taken to the hospital "for other medical reasons," the police report said.
The Arapahoe County Coroner's Office will release the name of the fatal victim after it is identified and relatives are notified, the police statement explains.
