In Bavaria, thousands of people showed solidarity with Ukraine.

In Nuremberg, a large demonstration took place in the city center, the church invited to pray in three languages.

Nuremberg - Thousands of people demonstrated in Bavaria against the war in Ukraine.

In Munich alone there were 5,000 people on Saturday (February 26, 2022), according to the police.

The meeting on Karlsplatz in the city center was peaceful, it said.

The demonstrators posted posters calling for peace in Ukraine and sanctions against Russia, among other things.

There was also a large peaceful demonstration in Nuremberg: According to the police, around 3,500 people came together on the Kornmarkt.

Together, the demonstrators demanded peace and the withdrawal of the Russian military, waving the Ukrainian flag.

The assembly was organized by the association "Ukrainer in Franken" and the "Alliance for a free and democratic Russia".

Already on Thursday (February 17, 2022) there was a demonstration against the Russian attacks in Nuremberg with around 3,000 participants.

That number was surpassed again this weekend.

Ukraine conflict: Church in Nuremberg holds a trilingual service for peace

In addition to the peaceful demonstration in Nuremberg, the Evangelical Lutheran

Deanery Nuremberg also invites you to a prayer for peace on Saturday from 4 p.m.

This will be held in three languages, Russian, German and Ukrainian.

The Nuremberg regional bishop Elisabeth Hann von Weyhern appealed: "Let us as Christians continue to be ambassadors of hope on all sides that there can be a peaceful coexistence in all differences." This emerges from a message from the church district.

Ukraine conflict: bad news at the weekend
