MK Eli Avidar demands that Chairman Mickey Levy allow the President of Ukraine to speak as he did before the British Parliament •

Tonight (Wednesday), MK Eli Avidar (Yisrael Beiteinu) demanded that Knesset Speaker MK Miki Levy allow Ukrainian President Vladimir Zlansky to address the Knesset plenum, as he did this week before the British Parliament.

This, after the Ukrainian president addressed the chairman's office.

"In recent hours, I have issued a letter to the Speaker of the Knesset requesting that a speech by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zalansky, be addressed to the Knesset plenum, at his request.

"A similar conversation exists between the President of Ukraine and the British Parliament," the former minister tweeted on Twitter.

"The Knesset is not the executive arm of the government and must accept a request from a state leader who wants to speak before the representatives of the public in Israel. Every application of the request puts us as elected officials on the negative side of history," Avidar added.

As mentioned, Avidar resigned from his position as minister in the government last month and did not spare criticism from Prime Minister Naftali Bennett.

However, he made it clear that he would not give a hand in overthrowing the coalition.
