This month 30 years ago Meretz was established.
It was composed of three parties, each of which could, had it not been for the Union, contribute independently to the Israeli agenda, even today: Mapam was supposed to bring the social-democratic ethos to politics and place the barriers to the rapid pursuit of privatization; The citizen, and especially to hold the civic ethos that is always lacking in conscripted Israeli society; and for a change today was to represent the discourse of freedom: freedom from religious establishments as well as from organizational establishments - economic oligopolies, powerful committees or unnecessary institutions that hold the Israeli "imprisoned" (presumably today Would the party propose to abolish the MLAG, for example).

A variety of books published by dozens of litigants - Europeans, Americans and Israelis - as well as archival documents that have already been revealed - testify to the magnitude of the tragedy carried out here.
It can already be concluded that the image is not enough: even if the party has an image of "peace and human rights", it may be infantile enough to make tragedies and cause political catastrophes in precisely these areas, lead to the country becoming a bloodbath, peace removed for decades, militarization increased, That the supporters of the compromise will decrease, that the extremists will overcome and that the wars will resume.
In fact, Meretz leaders - supporters of the settlement and compromise - religiously supported their aggressor, Yasser Arafat, for whom not only did thousands of Israelis die but it is not at all known how many Palestinians died because of "treatment" he received from the Palestinian security forces he commanded.
This is an illustration of a party whose leaders never sat down to make a mental account of their blind faith that rose in the lives of thousands, just as Mapam leaders after the Stalin period did not sit down to make a mental account of their blind faith in his own rule, captured by the Sun of the Peoples. They knew here in the kibbutzim what was happening there in the USSR.
And here in the March of the 1990s or 2000s, when intelligence reports were laid on the government table, they did not panic at all.
So there is nothing to talk about the Meretz of liberalism or feminism, or the Meretz of human rights.
Forever this will be the vigor of the burning religious faith in the majority of the murderers responsible for the blood and plumes of smoke.
30 years after its establishment, Naftali Bennett brought Meretz back to the cabinet table - thereby giving it an existential miracle.
