The Sparkasse Freising and Moosburg join forces and merge.

The legal merger takes place on June 1st.

Freising

– The board of directors of Sparkasse Freising and Stadt- und Kreissparkasse Moosburg Isar had unanimously agreed that the two banks should merge.

The district of Freising was the last in Bavaria to still have two independent savings banks.

"After fair talks at eye level, the district council approved the merger of the two savings banks on Thursday," the two savings banks reported.

There will also be changes on the board of directors from June 1st, when the merger is legally completed: Andrea Felsner-Peifer will lead Sparkasse Freising Moosburg as the new chairman of the board and Manuela Radspieler as her deputy.

Also on board as a member of the Management Board: Johann Kirsch, the current Chairman of the Management Board of Sparkasse Freising.

In mid-March, the Moosburg city council and the administrative boards and special-purpose associations of the two savings banks approved the merger.

As of June 1st, the “legal merger” to form Sparkasse Freising Moosburg will follow.

This means that “an important milestone has been reached on the way to a joint savings bank”.

The Management Board would like to thank everyone who has been working intensively on this merger for months.

The challenges of the banking industry would increase in the future: "That's why both savings banks are pooling their strengths in the Sparkasse Freising Moosburg."

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

The savings banks emphasize that the merger will initially not affect customers.

"All contracts and documents remain valid, all accounts are continued." The contact persons remained on site.

This also applies to telephone numbers and e-mail addresses.

Customers will continue to be the focus in the future.

The Sparkasse Freising Moosburg is "with a balance sheet total of around three billion euros in the stable midfield of the Bavarian savings banks".

The seat of the new savings bank is in Freising with a branch in Moosburg.

"The two previous main offices will continue to play a central role as administrative locations," it is reported.

With the branches, the decentralized structure of the savings banks is “sustainably strengthened”.

The final step is expected to be technical fusion in May 2023.

Then the databases are merged.
