After contacting two dating portals, a man is said to have drugged several women with alcohol and then abused them.
The district court in Düsseldorf sentenced the 39-year-old to three years in prison on Friday for one case of rape and two cases of serious sexual assault.
In the process, the women had reported sudden exhaustion and blackouts when meeting with the man.
The judges did not believe the defendant's statement that the sex was consensual.
"They have completely lost their standards," said the presiding judge, Mike Wißmann, in the direction of the accused when the verdict was announced.
According to his own statements, the man from Düsseldorf, who worked as an IT specialist, had been very active on dating platforms for ten years and met numerous women in the process.
