Emmanuel Macron is back this Saturday in Marseille, his
"city of hearts"
, as his relatives repeat.
His public meeting, in the open air, will be held in the park of the Palais du Pharo, where he announced his plan "Marseille en grand", on September 2.
With a budget of just over 1.5 billion euros, this myriad of projects has made France's second city the laboratory of macronie.
Even though Marseille offers fertile ground for extremes.
Precariousness, long failing governance, insecurity… Five years ago, Jean-Luc Mélenchon and Marine Le Pen came out on top.
Last Sunday, the Insoumis deputy elected from the Panier district largely consolidated his positions there (31.12%, + 6.3 points), as did the outgoing president (22.62%, +2.2 points), exceeding Marine Le Pen (20.89%, -2.8 points) who suffered here from competition from Éric Zemmour (11.1%).
