An 85-year-old elderly man killed his caregiver's 43-year-old son with a shotgun.
The murder took place in Gambolò (Pavia), in Lomellina a few kilometers from Vigevano (Pavia).
The 85-year-old, long ill and forced to move in a wheelchair.
The alarm was raised by the old man's Italian caregiver, desperate after seeing her son collapse on the floor of the apartment after being hit by the blow.
Rescuers immediately rushed to the scene, together with the carabinieri.
There was nothing more to be done now.
The 43-year-old died instantly.
The carabinieri immediately started investigations to reconstruct the fact and better understand the reasons that prompted the elderly to take up his rifle and shoot at the son of the caregiver who assists him.
The investigation is coordinated by the Pavia Public Prosecutor's Office.
