At the end of July, the Cologne "Café Buur" presented its latest creation: the "No Big Mac Taco".

But then suddenly there was mail from McDonald's.

Cologne – The popular Big Mac has been around since 1968.

The burger is a creation of the fast food chain McDonald's: iceberg lettuce, cheddar cheese and the special Big Mac sauce.

The owner of the popular Cologne “Café Buur”, Parham Poorami, was also impressed by the burger.

He then created his very own Big Mac - only it wasn't a burger, but a taco with ground beef, mushrooms and a special cheese sauce.

His special taco was dubbed "No Big Mac Taco," reports 24RHEIN.

But that was exactly what caused a conflict.

Café Buur gets mail from McDonald's - about taco

At the end of July, the cult café from Cologne, which is known for its unusual breakfast, made the Big Mac Tacos known on its own Instagram channel.

Fans of the café loved it and wrote comments like "They were sooooo good" and "Looks delicious!

food porn”.

The crispy tacos were already completely sold out on the first day, so that some guests even went away empty-handed.

Influencers like "twenty4tim" are also enthusiastic - they are his new favorite tacos, he says in an Instagram story.

However, not everyone liked the special tacos.

McDonald's promptly engaged its lawyers.

The reason: The café is not allowed to call its taco Big Mac.

"It's a shame that McDonald's didn't want or didn't want to give us the name 'No Big Mac Tacos,'" says Pooramin.

Café Buur in Cologne: "We would have found a solution"

"I was surprised when I saw that McDonald's hired lawyers, even though they always saw our Instagram stories," says the owner.

"You could have written to us and we would have found a solution," he says.

Café Buur initially tried to accommodate McDonald's and suggested a cooperation – without any feedback.

“We even recently actively approached McDonald's and offered them to cooperate with us for a good cause.

Unfortunately, our request went unanswered,” says Pooramin.

Only the name resembles the McDonald's burger, the rest was created by the café itself.

Popular Cologne café renames taco – because of McDonald's

The café signed the cease-and-desist declaration.

However, since the tacos are so popular, they were not simply removed from the menu, but renamed without further ado - and with humor.

No Big Mac became Forbidden Tacos.

"Everyone knows what is meant," says Pooramin.

The response on Instagram has been mostly positive.

One person commented, "And they look way better - and must taste way better than the 'Big' M's namesake... I bet you can think of a great name for these awesome tacos."

However, some users were more critical of the topic: "As if you didn't know that Big Mac is protected.

And the thing bears no resemblance to the Big Mac.

And even now you use the hashtag #BigMac.

There's a cease-and-desist declaration for that," writes one person.
