A year after the "Israel Hayom" investigation, the tenants are still screaming • Moshe Azoulai, a cancer patient: "They want me to die" • Amidar: "The tenant is not cooperating"

A year after the "Israel Hayom" investigation into the neglect of the Amidar company, in some of the apartments the defects have still not been repaired, the mold and rot are rampant, and the company disclaims responsibility.

Moshe Azoulai, who was then only "Moshe" for reasons of personal modesty, is no longer afraid to be exposed.

Now, he says, this is his last cry.

"I have lung disease, my whole house is full of oxygen tanks."

He points to the peeling ceiling in the living room of his apartment.

"Three years like this. They know the problem, they have my medical papers."

"Someone here is doing it on purpose."

Israel Hayom's investigation into the Amidar company, in which tenants who suffer disgraceful treatment from the company were exposed, was published already 13 months ago.

According to Moshe, nothing has changed since then, except for the fact that his condition worsened in the past year.

"Ten years ago I wasn't sick with lung and cancer - and I got the apartment. Today I'm sick - and they tell me no. Someone here is doing it on purpose"

"They wanted to put a 'band-aid', but they've already done it three times - and everything is still fluid. No one talked to me about replacing the doors, which is something I deserve because of the wheelchair. In the last two weeks I fell in the shower. Next time it could be the last fall My".

fought with all his might

The heat in a small apartment without air conditioning, the air pollution from the bus stop in front of his window, the apartment full of peeling plaster and the pressure from the financial situation took their toll - and Moshe got cancer.

According to him, one good thing came out of it: "I received the portable oxygen device. People wait months for it, but because I'm an oncologist, I received it in four days."

Moshe fought with all his strength against his body that betrayed him, after falling from a height and sitting for three years in a wheelchair.

"It's only thanks to my family that I'm holding on. It's only because of them that I don't make a mess. Because of the fall, I got the ground floor apartment. So, ten years ago, when I wasn't sick with lungs and cancer. So how does it make sense that today I'm sick and they tell me no? Someone here is doing it on purpose. They want me to die - there is no other explanation."

Memidir stated in response: "We tried to carry out the plastering of the apartment, but the tenant refused. We tried to coordinate with him without success and without cooperation. He submitted a request to move an apartment that was rejected by the Ministry of Construction, but he can appeal. We will be happy to assist in the renovation as much as the tenant allows."
