Yelena Gernberg is the murdered woman who was found in a field near Rehovot:
the body of Gernberg, a resident of Rishon Lezion, was found by a citizen who reported it to the police.
Her sister also contacted the police after Lana did not return home.
The suspect in the murder, 30 years old from Bat Yam, is a good friend of the murdered woman and was with her that evening.
He was arrested and detained for questioning.

The older sister of the murdered woman said that the family is convinced that the arrested suspect is the killer: "We arranged to meet yesterday in the evening. She was supposed to come with him. They were good friends, he was in love with her and would drive her everywhere."
Her sister also said that they were late for the meeting yesterday and that her sister said that the suspect was not feeling well, so they were delayed.
"They fought a lot, he was frustrated that she wasn't with him, he would court her, pay for her. He was with us many times, they have known each other for about 3 years, he always wanted to be with her and she said from the beginning that they were just friends."
The last conversation between the sisters was yesterday at ten thirty at night.
In the morning, the nurse filed a complaint with the police about the absence.
