A dedicated emergency line, the first of its kind, was recently launched to provide assistance, counseling, support and guidance services for deaf and hard of hearing women who live under violence, and to enable them to acquire tools to get out of the cycle of violence.
According to the data of the "LA Violence Against Women" association that operates the silent line, one in four women experiences violence in her home - including women who are hearing impaired and cannot contact the association's emergency line directly, except through an interpreter.

In order to allow these women to report, share and receive assistance and guidance to get out of the cycle of violence, directly and without intermediaries, the association opened a dedicated line for inquiries and receiving a response via WhatsApp.
The response to these inquiries was adapted and made especially accessible to women who suffer from hearing impairments and who experience domestic violence.
Verdit Danziger, CEO of the LA Association for Violence Against Women: "Even women who are hard of hearing and deaf deserve that their voices and cries for the eradication of violence in their homes be heard and answered."
At this stage, the silent line operates between 15:00-09:00 by sending a text message to 054-8825944.
Depending on the need, its operating hours will be extended in the future.
