Chelles: up to 30 months in prison for prostituting two women for a single day

2022-11-07T19:07:23.852Z

These two inhabitants of Hauts-de-Seine, aged 20 and 23, had been arrested by the police while they were "watching" the aisles

The owner of the apartment himself informed the police.

He himself had been alerted by the employees of the restaurant located under his accommodation, rented via an Internet platform when he had gone on vacation abroad.

The comings and goings of strangers, waiting on the sidewalk before going upstairs, suggested that they were going to meet prostitutes there.

It was avenue Georges-Digoy, in Chelles, on the evening of June 10.

A patrol from the anti-crime brigade (BAC) of the Villeparisis police station immediately intervened.

Discovering in the apartment two young women aged 19 and 20, ready to receive customers, and calling out to two men in the street, who seemed to be keeping watch.

This is why these two inhabitants of Gennevilliers (Hauts-de-Seine), aged 23 and 20, appeared – this Monday – before the criminal court of Meaux, for pimping aggravated by the plurality of victims.

The two friends – free at the hearing – have never ceased to proclaim their innocence.

The two prostitutes, who did not file civil suits, had claimed their activity before the police and cleared the two men.

While confident that they were there a bit to protect them…

A defendant with unconvincing explanations, another silent

“I will be frank.

I was a small part aware of prostitution.

I saw a box of condoms and lube on the bedside table.

The two girls, we had met them two days before.

The current had passed well.

Shana told me that she had an apartment and that we were going to spend the evening together, ”stammered the youngest, never condemned in the past.

He is the only one who agreed to answer the court's questions.

If he refused, in police custody, to give the code of his telephone to the investigators, it was – according to him – to protect his mother: “My mother is veiled and I didn’t want us to see her without a veil” .

And President Emmanuelle Teyssandier to retort: "That's not what interested the investigators".

When the magistrate asked him specific questions about items found in his cell phone, the defendant - uncomfortable at the bar - contented himself with "I lent my phone to Shana" or "I don't I don't remember”.

The young man assured that at the time of his arrest, Shana had been his girlfriend for two days and that he was in Chelles to spend the evening with her.

The president made it clear to him that his explanations were hardly convincing.

As proof: the court sentenced him to 18 months in prison with suspended probation and a fine of 1,200 euros.

Being a pimp is not only organizing prostitution

Almost mute, his co-defendant merely repeated that the 1,030 euros in cash discovered by the police that day were not on him but in the apartment.

With a strong criminal record of eight convictions, he received a heavier sentence, namely 30 months in prison, 12 of which were to be carried out under an electronic bracelet, and a fine of 1,200 euros.

The deputy prosecutor Myriam Khouas had requested sentences of up to three years in prison, including six months firm, with a fine of 1,000 euros, against the defendants.

“These two women seemed to be unaware that they were the girlfriends of the defendants!

There is no credit to be given to their explanations, ”she quipped.

The two friends – who are now prohibited from contacting each other and appearing in Seine-et-Marne – will have to complete an awareness training course in the fight against the purchase of sexual acts.

They will be able to work on what the president and the prosecutor hammered home at the hearing: being a pimp is not just about organizing prostitution, it is also about taking advantage of the money that comes from it, ensuring security and surveillance.
