(ANSA) - PERUGIA, 07 NOV - Riccardo Stefanelli, managing director of the Brunello Cucinelli fashion house together with Federico Marchetti, president King Charles's sustainable markets initiative fashion task force illustrated some "significant progress" of the Himalaya regenerative fashion project at Cop 27 living lab, which the Solomeo-based company has joined, making an economic commitment to support.

    The event, explains a note, was prepared by a meeting held at Buckingham Palace, with the presence of King Charles the Third, the new British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and over 300 of the most important companies and associations from around the world.

    The Himalayan regenerative fashion living lab - explains Brunello Cucinelli - aims to "restore harmony between the small local communities of some areas of the Himalayas with nature and the environment and at the same time, create value chains of fashion that are sustainable ".

It therefore aims to regenerate degraded landscapes and recover traditional crafts and textile skills in order to improve the local economies of cashmere, cotton and silk, addressing the global challenges related to climate change and the loss of biodiversity.

    "I have always thought of humanity in the dimension of the universal" underlined Brunello Cucinelli.

"This is why - he added - the fascination that the Himalaya regenerative Fashion Living Lab project had in my eyes was great, a visionary initiative concerning the land and the populations for which craftsmanship is of vital importance, a highly humanistic project. to which I was able to participate thanks to the proposal of His Majesty King Charles the Third. The years of my childhood, in the Umbrian countryside, the peasant life made me particularly sensitive to the theme of the earth and to every aspect of artisan life, and made known the vital value of a sustainable environment in which I have always seen the source of everything beautiful in the great Human Family;

"The goal dearest to all of us - said Stefanelli - is to plant the seed of a tree whose shadow will benefit our children, with the hope that it will also be the sprout of hope for all the communities involved and for the their future generations. The significant progress of the project, which we had the pleasure and honor to share in Sharm El Sheikh, in the presence of leaders from all over the world, are the most beautiful and effective way to pay the right tribute to solidarity between Peoples, businesses, communities and citizens, which has developed around COP27 ".
