"great red wave"
was to carry him there, embodied by new elected officials in Congress whose stamp "Trump" dangled the conquest of Democratic strongholds.
The owner of the brand - and virtually the Republican Party - had already set the date for
"a big announcement"
next Tuesday.
Alas, the tsunami has turned into a ripple: if victory is finally at the rendezvous, it will be narrow.
This does not change the fact that Joe Biden will have to reckon with a hostile, even obstructive and inquisitive opposition.
But that changes everything for Trump's future.

The polls have shown, as in 2020, that the stimulating effect of Trumpism on part of the Republican electorate is coupled with an at least equivalent repelling effect on the rest of Americans.
