The facts occurred around 1:15 p.m., outside the resort's ski area.
These ten people, who practiced off-piste ski touring, were not injured.
Two women of about 25 years old were however totally buried for a few minutes, before being extracted by rescuers from the Annecy high mountain gendarmerie platoon (PGHM).
Helicopters were engaged in the operation.

The Weather Channel* had warned of a high risk of avalanche in the Savoies and Isère.
A 53-year-old skier also died on Monday in an avalanche at the Col de Larche (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence).
