Rammingen/Unterallgäu/Kaufbeuren – After the long-serving CSU member of parliament Franz Josef Pschierer switched to the FDP (who reported Wochen KURIER), four candidates wanted to follow in his footsteps and run as direct candidates for the CSU in next year's state elections in the Kaufbeuren constituency walk.

Tonight the CSU decided: Peter Wachler from Markt Wald prevailed in the runoff against Christoph Walter from Mindelheim.

All four candidates first introduced themselves to the 95 delegates at the Ramminger Gasthof Stern: As previously announced, Peter Wachler, Gerhard Bucher junior and Dr.

Thomas Jahn (both from Kaufbeuren) and Christoph Walter.

Wachler received the most votes (40) in the first ballot (besides much applause).

Behind them were Walter (30), Jahn (14) and Bucher jun.

(9).

Because an absolute majority was needed, there was a run-off election - again with the mayor of Markt Walder as the winner (55 against 40 votes for Walter).

Wachler was touched and naturally accepted the election as a direct candidate for the CSU in the Kaufbeuren constituency.

The Walder market immediately after his triumph: “My door is open to everyone.

Give me your vote and we'll rock it!"

The Lower Allgäu CSU district association chairman Martin Osterrieder (standing right) congratulated Peter Wachler on the successful election.
