While debates on gender regularly arouse strong reactions, Road Safety has decided, at the risk of being criticized, to address the subject of men and women on the road.
A sensitive topic that the Interministerial Delegate for Road Safety, Florence Guillaume, wanted to address so as not to overshadow a reality: 8 out of 10 people killed on the road are men.
Victims, therefore, but also perpetrators, as evidenced by other figures.
84% of those responsible for fatal accidents and 93% of drunk drivers involved in an accident are men.
At the wheel, the latter therefore largely have a monopoly on death and brutality, as if the road, the scene of all power struggles, remained a sanctuary impervious to any evolution.

This reality
"can no longer be left on the side of the road
," said the head of Road Safety on Monday, presenting a campaign devoted to
"this thorny subject".
