The police inspection in Dachau has published the traffic balance for 2022.
Compared to 2021, more accidents occurred.
Unfortunately, the number of fatal accidents on the roads in the Dachau region has also increased.
But there is also positive news.
District – The number of traffic accidents in the area of the Dachau police station was 4250 in 2022. That is 2.6 percent more than in 2021 (4140).
The number of accidents with injuries rose to 523, which is 3.9 percent more than in the previous year (503).
A total of 673 people were injured in these 523 accidents, which is 6.5 percent more than in 2021. In seven cases, traffic accidents in the service area of the PI Dachau, which does not include the A 8, which is the responsibility of the Fürstenfeldbruck traffic police inspection, had a fatal one Exit.
There were four more road fatalities than in 2021 (3).

Expressed in numbers: In 2021 there were 214 incidents, last year there were only 197. In 116 traffic accidents, cyclists were the sole cause.
181 bicycle accidents resulted in injuries to the cyclist, 29 of which were serious.
Two cyclists died in an accident.

In the past school year, the PI Dachau recorded eight accidents on the way to school, in 2021 there were four.
The number of injured students rose from five to nine.
Very gratifying: the police did not record a single accident at a crossing where traffic was being regulated by helpers on the way to school.
Fatal Accidents 2022
- In March, two cars collided head-on on the
Eichhofen-Westerholzhausen local road
(Markt Indersdorf district).
The person who caused the accident died at the scene of the accident.
- In May there was a collision between a motorcycle and an agricultural towing vehicle
on
state road 2047 near Breitenau .
The motorcyclist who had the right of way was overlooked and died of his injuries at the scene of the accident.
- In June , a collision
occurred between a car and a cyclist on the
Arnbach-Niederroth local road (Markt Indersdorf district). The woman died in a hospital.
- In August there was
a collision between a car and a motorcycle on
state road 2054 in Indersdorf .
The motorcyclist had lost control of his vehicle in the curve area and collided with an oncoming car. He died at the scene of the accident.
- In September, a driver overtook several cars on the
DAH 11 district road in Weichs
, left the road to the right and crashed into a tree.
The car was torn in two and came to rest in an adjacent pond.
The driver died in hospital a few hours later.
- In November, an e-bike rider crashed on
state road 2047 in Altomünster
without external influence and died of his injuries in hospital.
- In December, a car skidded on the slippery winter roadway of the
B 471 near Bergkirchen
and collided head-on with a car in the oncoming lane. The driver died at the scene of the accident.

The number of wildlife accidents in 2022 was 1026. Compared to the previous year (1065), there was a decrease of almost 3.6 percent.
Five road users were slightly injured in collisions with animals.

The main accident route in the district of Dachau is now the state road 2047 - in its entire length between Wollomoos in the north-west of the district and the city of Dachau.
The road leads via Erdweg, Oberroth and Schwabhausen.
There were 244 accidents with 56 injuries in 2022.
Two people lost their lives.
For comparison: in 2021 there were 261 accidents with 80 injuries.
In the area of the city of Dachau, the Münchner Strasse stands out with 112 traffic accidents with 24 injuries.
Conclusion of the police
Although the number of accidents has increased, "we're actually satisfied," says Olschowsky.
It should be borne in mind that there were fewer corona restrictions in 2022 than in 2021.
Not least because of this, more vehicles rolled down the streets again last year.
"There is no priority that needs to be worked through," says the traffic expert.
But: "We will analyze the numbers and check them further."
