On the anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, EU countries agreed on another package of sanctions against Russia.
The new punitive measures include additional trade restrictions.
Poland has agreed to accept a new package of EU sanctions against Russia for invading Ukraine a year ago.
Poland's EU ambassador, Andrzej Sados, was quoted as saying by the Polish news agency PAP that the Polish approval was subject to conditions and depended on several points.
Due to Poland's threat of a veto, however, the EU states failed to meet the original target of making the tenth package of sanctions legally binding on the first anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Warsaw then rowed back late Thursday evening.
According to diplomats, the ban on the import of synthetic rubber from Russia is now included in the package, albeit with the transitional periods that Italy in particular had demanded.
The EU member states still have to approve the compromise in a written procedure, which, according to the Swedish EU Council Presidency, will only begin on Saturday at 11:30 a.m.
