Germany's Foreign Minister, Analana Barbuk, met today (Tuesday) with Foreign Minister Eli Cohen in Berlin and said that she is concerned about the government's legislative intentions in Israel.
"I am very worried about the future of democracy in Israel in view of the legislative initiatives. Israel was, in the eyes of many in the world, a model for democracy, and now we are worried," Barbok said during a press conference with Foreign Minister Cohen.
Barbok also said that "it would be a big mistake to adopt the death penalty law for terrorists."
Minister Cohen, for his part, supported the government's decisions and said: "Israel will remain a democracy. We will continue to build in Judea and Samaria. We will find justice for lawbreakers in Hawara."
