Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef attacked former Supreme Court President Aharon Barak yesterday (Saturday evening) in his weekly lesson in Jerusalem, the words harsh: "Aharon Barak said he does not believe in God, so if you are an unbeliever how do you interfere in religious matters? What does that have to do with you? ".
The rabbi also mentioned the chametz law that is being quickly promoted in the Knesset before Passover, which begins in a month: "Why are you interfering with chametz in hospitals? He made the mess and then says 'religious coercion'. What is your connection to religious matters? You don't even believe in the Holy One, blessed be He. The verse Shema Yisrael you don't know how to say. An 86-year-old man doesn't know how to say Shema Yisrael, shame and dishonor. Is he a Jew?"
Aharon Barak in the interview in question,
The rabbi referred to Aharon Barak's statement that he does not believe in God: "What is not believing? Belief in the Holy One, blessed be He, is our foundation, they are the successors of the Haskalah generation. It was not just that thousands and thousands were converted here to religion. All kinds of people would come here with wigs, They would cut their wigs."
Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef also referred to the conscription law: "Aharon Barak intervened in the conscription of yeshiva students and in all matters of religion and state. All the problems of religion in the country, what happened here, is because of these people, these heretics."
