Driving license: what penalties for non-compliance with restrictive mentions?

2023-03-15T17:25:36.610Z

RIGHTS OF THE USER - The decree of April 20, 2012 setting the conditions for the establishment, issue and validity of the driving license lists no less than 118 reasons restricting the right to drive.

Legislation provides for driving restriction conditions for medical reasons (glasses, specific optical aid, etc.), by imposing equipment or adaptation of the vehicle (driving aid, etc.), or even in terms of traffic (daytime travel, motorway ban, etc.).

A restrictive code is thus mentioned on the user's driving license (column 12).

Be aware that failure to comply with the conditions of validity of the driving license is punishable by a 4th class fine (from 135 to 750 euros fine).

The offender also incurs 3 points on his licence.

He also risks having his vehicle immobilized and having his license suspended for a maximum of 3 years.

The lifting of the restrictions can be requested from the Driving Rights Office of the prefecture on which the user depends.
