Nuremberg – "Palliative place wanted", writes the Nuremberg animal shelter for a photo of two budgerigars on Facebook.

Gisbert (male) and Tweety (female) are "urgently looking for a home."

Only six to nine months to live: budgerigar with cancer is looking for a last home

Gisbert is five years old, Tweety is only two.

Both were given away because their owner fell ill.

"I, Gisbert, have testicular cancer and a hernia in the abdomen.

I have to check my weight regularly.

We have also been to a veterinarian who specializes in birds, but he says that therapy is unfortunately not really possible," the older animal continues.

Hormone therapy doesn't make sense either.

Although it is difficult to say, according to the vet, the budgerigar only has six to nine months left.

"Me, Tweety had an increase in volume on the abdomen and upper chest, which turned out to be a lipoma.

You have to watch my weight too and make sure I don't gain too much weight.

I also get something for liver protection,” the two-year-old budgerigar continues.

“We two definitely want to stay together and not be torn apart.

We don't want to spend our twilight years in an animal shelter and want nothing more than a home," the Facebook post continues.

The post has been shared nearly 300 times in hopes of granting the two animals' wish.

Anyone who is interested in the duo and wants to give them a home can contact the small animal house on 0911/9198925.

Among other things, the dog Jazz hopes for a new family, the same applies to the found dog Idefix, who simply nobody misses.

Dog grandma Gimich doesn't want to spend the rest of her life in an animal shelter either.
