(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 02 - The 10 finalists of the Atlante - Italian Teacher Award have arrived, for the best Italian teacher, established in 2018 by United Network in collaboration with "Repubblica Scuola" and in partnership with the Varkey Foundation.

The three winners (one for kindergartens and primary schools, one for lower secondary schools and one for upper secondary schools) will be announced on Friday 5 May, at 9 am, during a ceremony to be held in Rome, at the Brancaccio Theater .

The aim of the award is to recognize the value and social role of teachers in Italy, to raise awareness of their work, which is often little considered, as well as the creative and original initiatives developed by Italian teachers.

All the projects presented will be freely available on a public platform.

A tool to reward the work of Italian teachers, but also to spread the good practices developed within Italian schools.

The projects were judged by a high-profile jury, chaired by Alessandro Fusacchia, essayist, former deputy and coordinator of the Interparliamentary group on guidance (2018-2022) and head of the Cabinet of the Ministry of Education (2014-2016).

"This award not only wants to celebrate the value of all teachers, but also to offer an important cross-section of the extraordinary work that tens and tens of thousands of people do every day to make school the place for growth, awareness and redemption. In judging the projects, the beacon of the jury was article 3 of the Constitution - said Fusacchia - It was a demanding task, but above all exciting, which allowed us to discover and learn about extraordinary experiences".
