At the Tölzer Hütte am Schafreiter, the season begins this Saturday, May 13th. In the run-up to the event, the helpers of the Tölz Alpine Club section still had a lot to do.
Bad Tölz/Lenggries - Shoveling was on the agenda last weekend. the hut entrances were freed from the snow, which was still high ly. After the action, the cold May weather brought another 20 centimeters of fresh snow in the past few days, but about half has already thawed away, according to the DAV section.
Overnight stays are already well booked at the start
The hut will now start the season this Saturday, May 13th. And already on the first weekend, the new hosts Benno Schödel and Andrea Held can look forward to a well-attended house. 50 of the 70 beds are already occupied on Saturday. On the long weekend with a bridging day in the coming week, the occupancy rate is already at 80 to 90 percent, according to the section.

The hut at 1835 meters is now open until mid-October. At the end, the traditional mountain fair of the Tölz section is always on the program. This year's date is 8 October. Information about the hut and the various access options can be found on www.toelzer-huette.at
Many huts are already back in operation
Many huts in the Tölzer Land have already reopened since the beginning of May. The mountain railways are in operation, and the toll road to the Eng is also open. An overview of the huts can be found here. However, if you are currently planning a tour, you should be prepared for the fact that there is still some snow at slightly higher altitudes.
