An accident occurred on Wednesday morning at the Herzogstandbahn. One passenger was injured, a gondola was damaged. Operations are suspended until further notice.
Walchensee - "Out of service until further notice due to a technical malfunction." This advertisement has been on the homepage of the Herzogstandbahn since Wednesday. According to the police, it is currently unclear when the cable car will run again. Because before that, it must be investigated how it could come to the accident, which occurred on Wednesday around 10 o'clock.

By means of a winch, trees were to be transported down to the valley
According to the officials, tree trunks were to be transported to the valley by means of an electric winch installed in the gondola in addition to the passengers. For reasons that have not yet been clarified, however, the suspension of the winch got caught on a support during the journey.

Due to the forces acting on the gondola, it was set in motion considerably, and the gondola itself was significantly damaged. A 27-year-old passenger from Nuremberg was slightly injured in the head. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Driving must be stopped for the duration of the repair
To clarify the cause, the supervisory authority, the cable car supervisor of the government of Upper Bavaria, and an expert were consulted. Driving will be suspended for the duration of the repair.
