Layer by layer, the State of Israel is losing its control throughout the country. These are no longer Area C in Judea and Samaria, where the Civil Administration abandoned the area to the Palestinian Authority. The areas currently threatened are the periphery outside the Gedera-Hadera line. There the rampant crime combines with nationalist aspirations, endangering Israel along familiar lines. The establishment, supported by a political elite fighting the wrong battle, doesn't even know it's losing the battle.
This is the direct line connecting the murders in the Arab sector to the nationalist-Arab siege of Megiddo; The connection between the theft of weapons from Tze'elim last week and the crown imposed by Bedouins based on Nabataeans at Guardian of the Walls. And yes, also by strangling Jewish settlement in the Galilee and the Negev.

What these threats have in common – and also in Lod, where nationalist riots took place two years ago and today the mayor is forced to surrender to criminal organizations – is the state's abdication of its responsibility to provide law and order for all. What began decades ago as a weakness in enforcement has swelled into a nationalist-security-political threat.
Directed first and foremost against Israeli Arabs
Not to be misunderstood. Not only is the threat not posed by Israeli Arabs, but it is directed first and foremost against them. At the moment, they are the victim who pays the heaviest price for the disappearance of the state. On the contrary, erroneous considerations of reverse racism, and consideration of those who appear to suffer from racism, contributed to the cessation of enforcement in the sector many years ago. But it would be a mistake to think that "what happens among the Arabs remains with the Arabs."
Initially, planning and building laws in the sector were forgotten. Then they turned a blind eye to protection. Subsequently, from the purchase of weapons. Next, the crime that was rampant inside broke out all over the country. From Kiryat Shmona to Dimona, there is no business owner who is not familiar with the requirements for "guard fees".

The more the Israeli presence was lost, the greater the "Palestinian spirit." It was permissible to wave PLO flags, disapprove of Hatikvah, and nurture the Nakba. At the same time, the planning and building authorities, led by the Planning Administration and the Israel Land Authority, strangled Jewish settlement in the periphery. Thus, in a long process, problems and challenges dressed on each other: weakness in enforcement, misconceptions, wrong planning and building policies, rampant crime and turning a blind eye.
The bodies accumulate daily
We may not want to talk in terms of Jews and Arabs. The state rightly refers only to "Israelis." But the bodies that accumulate every day teach everyone how serious the damage of the current policy is. The demand for autonomy in the Galilee or the Negev is not yet here, but if we do not come to our senses, the day is not far off and it will come. Perhaps even at the sensitive timing of war with Iran.
Much needs to be done to reverse the trend and begin the restoration of sovereignty. The immediate step is the integration of the Shin Bet in the fight against crime. After all, the law states that the service will act to safeguard vital national security interests. Second, today at a meeting of the ILA Council, Netanyahu must ensure that the practical decisions are in accordance with his approach. Then the National Guard must be established and a long list of sovereign actions must be taken: from eradicating crime to raising the Israeli flag in Arab cities. This is called the governance of a Jewish and democratic state.
